Then to split the fairing there are screw fastenings that hold inner panels plus two that come up underneath into the clip fastner and the headlight shroud which also need to be removed and then the tabs will come apart. If you want to take out the headlight carefully remove the 4 cheesy screws in each corner holding it onto the metal inserts in the plastic (I replaced mine with ss hex bolts with a dab of coppergrease)

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Try when trying to undo them to put the headlight face down onto a towel and use a good long handled screwdriver. I failed and had to dremel grind the mounts out ruining the placcy - hence why the hex screws next time round. Good luck!

If they fail, or you bugger the connection tongue, don't panic.
Drill a small hole on either side of the join, and connect with a small cable tie. For added security drill two sets of holes, one forward and one rearward of where the original fastener was.
This bodge can't be seen, and is strong enough to stand normal use, as I did this on a previous set of plastics years ago.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
