Worth heat wrapping exhaust beside rear shock/linkage?

Doing my rear shock linkage at the moment, and noticed how close the exhaust runs to one of the bearings.
This is the only bearing that needs doing on mine, the others must have been done at some point. Unless its the heat that has killed it early?
So I was thinking of heat wrapping the exhaust at this point, maybe near the damper too, would this help?

In my experience the major issue with these linkage bearings is lack of maintenance (the shortage of grease) more than anything else. See link:-

you could also buy a r&g shock tube, it might help with the rear shock...

Will this one fit BSM? The shock I mean not will it fit BSM!!!

I'm not sure of the shock dimensions and its roughly 1/4 the price of the R&G one.

its basically neoprine, so if you want the cheapest option, find someone who's got an old wetsuit and cut a length off the arm and stretch it over the shock, i know a courier in london that does it and he swears by it.

It'll look like a mankini thongy fing on the Storms shock!

Check the length out (not on Borat) but on the ebay monster sock compared to the Storms shock length

You could probably glue four together:
MONSTER ENERGY SHOCK ABSORBER COVER/PROTECTOR

LENGTH-210MM

WIDTH-100MM

Anyway, this only protects the spring and gas cartridge from heat soak/radiated heat from the downpipe.
It won't affect the linkage, which is where you started.

You could make a little aluminium heat shield to deflect some of the heat away form the linkage, but I would have said that a better option is fit grease nipples and use them regularly.

Was planning to fit grease nipples, but when I stripped the linkages only 1 needs doing. Not drilling and tapping them with the bearings in place (swarf). Will put fresh grease in them all. For all the miles I do will just check every couple of years.
Will have a look at a shield, but dont think theres much clearance. Will keep an eye out for an old wetsuit
