Tanks

Post by bluestoesonnose »

Been looking at a few Storm tanks, and I was wondering if there are any visual clues to tell a 16l from a 19l?

Cheers

Apart from being bigger - the 19L has a different fuel tap arrangement and different decals.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

No point.
BSM will have told everyone within seconds of it being up there.

Try the German site, ebay.de

Even with P+P they seem to be cheap sometimes, probably due to type approval making it difficult to fit secondhand/non-approved parts.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

719 euros lol!!!!! jeez i thought mine was dear at 40 quid!
is it really worth spending that much for another 3L of fuel lol.... when you're averaging 7 miles to the litre?

bargains do come along now & then though.... but theres so many people after them.

just a point with the 19L.... you have to use the level sensor from the 16L tank - the 19L sensor is totally different and will probably set your bike on fire as it works on a coil (rheostat) rather than a simple microswitch - if you forget to swap it for the 16L sensor, you will be passing 12v through a coil of wire immersed in fuel, which is probably not such a good idea lol 8O

my reserve light still comes on at the same mileage as it did with the 16L, and if i fill at the light im adding about 14L.
the only difference is there's still 5L left which works out about 35 - 50 mile depending how i ride.

cba bending the wire on the float lol. might get round to it one day. :Beer Popcorn:

trust me there are lots of interesting items that i don't post, and as far as 19l tanks go, there are always people looking for them so i doubt a bargain is in the offing although you never know....

Not whinging, I'm just having to look further afield to find a bargain with no bids on...

All's fair in love and Ebay bidding, after all.

(So while you're watching the internet I'm stalking your girlfriend....)
