Mesh Inserts
Mesh Inserts
Want to fit some mesh inserts to the apertures at the front and side of the fairing but I can't for the life of me figure out the best way to attach these things. All I can figure out is some sort of adhesive. Anybody had experience of this or know of a better fixing method that hopefully does not involve damaging the plastic.

Re: Mesh Inserts
the only other method is to use a heat resistant silicone, which is easy to remove and wont damage the fairing inner

Re: Mesh Inserts
If you make them with an inner return edge, you can push fit them in from the inside, then glue gun, silicon or Araldite on the hidden returns inside.
Don't forget the little LED inside each one....

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Mesh Inserts
WOW that's a great idea, they'll look fantastic just like the day time running lights all the best new cars and Toyota mini cabs seem to have, I can wire them up to my strobes !!tony.mon wrote:

I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R

Re: Mesh Inserts
Mine had been done when I bought the bike. Simo told me that they had been glued in with a glue gun (correct me if I'm wrong Simo)
Not a brilliant pic but you can see them.

Re: Mesh Inserts
Aye that's right Dunc, I found I had to virtually take all the fairing to bits to make a job of it.

Re: Mesh Inserts
I put mesh in both the front vents (and removed the inner fairing panels), and also removed the "third eye" and made it into a vent (with mesh)....
