There's a downloadable PDF Honda service manual in the workshop section if you want to get stuck into overhauling the carbs yourself (if they need cleaning then they'll need disassembly) - Alternatively get a secondhand set of carbs of ebay or similar and see if that sorts your problem out - bearing in mind that they might need a good spring clean as well.

When were your carbs last balanced? As that procedure is covered in the workshop knowledgebase
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Chances are that there's a small airleak somewhere.
Firstly check that the carbs are seated properly in the intake rubbers- it's very easy for one to be blow out of the seat with a slight misfire or airbox cough.

Secondly check to see if there's a vac take-off been fitted to the front cylinder, down near the tickover adjuster knob.
If so check that the section of tubing hasn't perished or cracked.
Similarly for the rear one, going to the 9 o'clock position on the fuel tap (if it's an older one)
Pull the tube off of the tap and have a look in the end- they often perish inside the tube, and need to be cut back a few mm.

If none of those, get carbs balanced, if that doesn't help, then it will be a crack in one of the carb diaphragms.

Actually a split diaphragm is the most likely option, but you need to have checked the other things first.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
