Following the lovely weather at the weekend I got out for a good run on the VTR across to Wales.
Whilst "making progress" I noticed that I was getting some clutch slip over 8k when gassing it. The slip did stop when I backed off but given another handful it slipped again. This only happens at high revs and is perfect at lower revs.
As the bike has nearly 26k on it and the docs show that the clutch hasn't been touched, should I just look to order some more friction plates and an mew gasket? Is there anything else I should do when it's in bits? Do I need to replace the springs as well?
Any advice would be appreciated. Enjoy the good weather as this is our summer!

Just needs friction plates- EBC do a replacement set.
Get the uprated springs while you're at it- theyr'e slightly stronger but don't feel harder at the lever.
You can also get a Kevlar set, they are said to be snatchier (quicker take-up) but I have them fitted and it seems fine.
Doesn't cure the clutch locking problem, though.
Oh, and you'll need to order in a new clutch centre nut, as the security tab isn't always re-usable.
In order to undo it you need a clutch locking tool; local Honda dealer may hire you one for the day.
If you lay the bike on it's LH side it makes it much easier, assuming you don't have a hydraulic workbench.

not wanting to contradict tony here, but he is lacking sleep and that might be the reason.......................
you dont need to undo the clutch center nut or buy a holding tool to change the Plates and springs. only need that if you are remove the basket
and if you do the work on the side stand, you dont even need to drain the oil

Yep, lack of sleep again.
Not even been drinking....
No need to undo the clutch centre nut for plates.
I'm still stripping mine too often to try to stop it grabbing.
I'm gonna stop posting until I get a decent night's kip. Or use Alastair as my proof-reader
