Sticking Pistons

Post by bluestoesonnose »

Got two sticking pistons on the front LH caliper, both the inside ones. What the easiest way to get these working again and whats the best way to get it all working again?

Cheers

Easy way: Hold the outside ones in with a clamp, and pump the inside ones out far enough not to pop em out and clean the piston up as best you can

Best Way: Get em off and strip and service them all with new seals etc ready for the summer season.

I pinched this info below from an earlier thread I started, it tells you the part numbers for the seals only:-

Information that may be helpful for others.
Each seal pack contains two rubber seals (one piston seal and one dust seal, enough for one piston only). The standard VTR calipers have four pistons in each caliper (two of one size and two of another), so that means eight seal packs will be needed for a complete set:-

4 of part No. 06451-KV3-405

4 of part No. 06451-KV3-406
