Well the "get Banana back on the road" mission is progressing. I have however hit a little problem, I'm stuck on high beam, the switch is stuck in and won't come out. I guess it just needs a good flushing through with contact cleaner and a bit of grease.
Any advice before I start dismantling the front end to get to it - it looks like the loom plug is behind the clocks, so they're gonna have to come off just to get the switch gear on the bench

It would be nice if she would fire up, but the battery is shot, and although I removed the dead battery and hooked up a car battery with some big jump leads, she wouldn't get past the compression stroke on each attempt. I stopped before I burnt out the starter! But hey, she turns over! I'll pull the plugs tomorrow and spin her over again to get the lubrication flowing and give it another try.
The battery is on the battery charger, and it is taking a small current, so you never know. Stranger things have happened. A new battery is on the shopping list anyway.
