Re: Hello!
Only seen pics of Benny's and that looks ace.....not seen any more pics as yet I will keep looking tho!....still pondering what to go with theres so many options it's hard to choose!! May go for a split colour yet or some sort of candy finish? Any suggestions welcome lol. That was quite a good price for your paint job btw!!!

Re: Hello!
Welcome to forum speedysocks. What's the rest of the bike like, mechanically and stuff? Is this your first storm?
A good bunch on here with a great wealth of knowledge and assistance. And off course a good bit of healthy banter.
If you have only just got the bike or it's your first storm, I think starting with a re-spray is a strange one to want to do first. I got a Black storm and want to change the colour of that at some stage, I keep umming and arghing over what colour/colour's to do it in! But for me I think it's more important to sort everything else out first and worry about the colour later.
Have fun

Straight in there!Hello and welcome
Repaint mmmrrr lots of colours to choose frombut only one will make it faster
Have a good read through the workshop knowledge base section regarding ccts and r/r and also rear suspension bearings/ linkages as they are all known to fail

Re: Hello!
Thanks for the welcome everyone!!!
This is my 6th Storm
, mechanically it's fine, got it with FSH and 26,000 miles. CCT's done 600 miles ago (although they are the standard Honda jobbies which I'd like to replace at some point after reading this forum lol).
Yes, it may seem strange to some that the first job I'd think of is paint but I do painting and airbrush work so costs me the price of paint and laquer to do
Not mechanically minded at all!!! Whats the first things I should be looking at?

Your bike is looking a bit multicolored. have you got any colour preferences. You could do some fancy airbrushing

CCT's as Sirch345 said. Otherwise you are taking a gamble, they could fail at anytime (the equivalent as a timing belt snapping on a car) and cost you a lot more money.Whats the first things I should be looking at?
To be honest the FSH won't make any difference to the CCT's. It's a design fault in the Honda originals. It could fail at any time. Your bike could come out the garage perfectly fine and there would be no early warning and they could fail.mechanically it's fine, got it with FSH and 26,000 miles.
I'm not trying to scare you, I just want you to be aware of that. You have a choice of going for keeping the Honda Auto Tensioners and making them so they are fail safe from damaging the engine. But will fail one day! Have a read through here http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=19416 it might give you a bit more of an insight.
Or
A complete manual conversion here http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326 and for the options of various manual CCT's http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 16&t=22720
Have Fun
