Shim Kits
Was chatting with Vee the other day, he suggested a Hotcam shim kit @9.82mm, but i can't find one listed only a 9.48mm kit, would i be ok with the 9.48mm ones?

Re: Shim Kits
sorry, my mistake m8, (tis vee vtr on fb btw
) the 9.48mm is the correct kit for the firestorm
seems a lot of £ for a lot of shims, some you'll never use... but when you consider what a dealer will charge you for doing the job, and the inconvenience of being without your bike while you wait to order them up, makes sense having them to hand.
alternatively you could check first with local dealers to see if they have them in stock.... if they have to order them it can take days / weeks.
you will also need good (long) metric feelers, magnet on a stick for lifting the buckets c/w shim and some threadlock for when it all goes back together..
its important you follow the same guide for finding TDC as if you were doing the camchain tensioners.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Shim Kits
Trouble is, you use a few and forget to restock the kit.
I've just had to restock Benny's kit to make sure we have enough for next time.
Used motorcycle-tuning-direct on Ebay, as they ship as many as you want for a single P+P- about £1.40, I think.
And a quick service.
They break up and sell individual shims from Hotcam kits.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
