I'm searching for a metal spacer tube grommet. The type that slides over a bolt as a spacer to fit inside, say an exhaust mount rubber grommet. What do you call them? Have they got a technical name I can search for?
I have been using different search combinations on fleabay, running through pages and pages of nuts bolts etc with no luck.
I had the same issue mate (and never did work out the name!). I bought a couple of lengths of alloy tubing in the size I wanted from B&Q then used a screw down pipe slice to cut it to size. Finished off with a file for a good finish.
I used it to make the spacers in the grommets for my belly pan, hugger and front guards as well as loads of bits on the lads TS50x.
Where are you goning to use it and what size bolts are you putting through it?

Basically I need to have some exhaust hangers made. So in the bottom mounting hole I want to put a rubber grommet and one of those sleave washer things in the centre with a washer either side, then the nut & bolt going through the exhaust strap and that lot. I figured this would give the exhaust a bit of suspension as it could swivel slightly in the mount as the bike bounces.
I'm not sure about measurments as it's early preliminary ideas at the moment. I'm going to make a hanger template tommorow and then it will be down to the thickness of what ever gets made by the machinest/metal worker. I'm hoping to have something between 5 and 10mm
Why not have a look at your bike and find parts form other areas which will fit?
There are some on the tail plastic section at the leading point, some under the front of the tank- maybe more, can't think of any off-hand.
The local bike workshop will also have some knocking about, and may be able to suggest some form other bikes that will fit.
Or have some made, by an engineering shop, but that's a bit overkill, really.
Probably easiest to just turn some- know anyone with a lathe?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
