Hi,
Just got some Hyperpro front springs, instructions say set to 22mm static sag, this is bike weight only, no rider( I thought it would be more like 10-15mm with no rider) this seems a lot to me, as with rider on bike static sag should normally be about 35mm?
Can anyone clarify.
Also it says to remove spring spacer, do I use the joint plates that fit either side of the spacer, when reassembled, or do these get left out with spacer.
Thanks.

Re: Hyperpro front spings.
Before you take it apart measure the ride height as you are used to it and set the adjusters for this as it will effect steering. Not much you can alter really as long as they feel OK.
Re: Hyperpro front spings.
20 to 25mm static is correct fr the new springs.
BUT as oldbike man has pointed out this may make the front ride higher than it did with the old springs, making it turn in slower. to fix this you can raise the forks through the yokes to restore the same ride height

Re: Hyperpro front spings.
Thanks for the replys, so that static sag of 20-25mm is done with out rider on bike, just making sure that's correct, so I don't muck anything up.
Anyone know if the joint plates need to go back in, (the ones that fit either side of the spacer) as there is no mention of it in the hyperpro manual, It just says remove spacer when re fitting.
Thanks.

static sag = bike only, no rider.
you should do it with damping wound right off, but also measure the position when you push down and let it come up under its own springs, and then when you pull up and let it settle under its own weight. the correct sag is mid point between these 2 measurements

You'll need at least one spacer, but the second is unnecessary.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Is the 160mm air gap right as well? Is there any other gaps that work well with the hyperpro springs.
