Stick Coils Cutting Help Please

Post by seb421 »

I was going to take these with me to Benny today as i know hes a man who can but i couldn't afford the fuel to go etc

Any way I've promised two of them to a member on here a while back and want to get them to him as soon as i can

can some one please give me help re cutting the wires, do i just cut them where they all go into one? two will be very short then by the luck of it, do i use one long and one short and sell one long and one short or what?

will two of them still be usable being so short

thanks

Thanks mate im a pictures kinda guy and the pics are so small I couldn't see the join on the wires

got the bit i needed now

Cut the plug of the vtr coil but leave the wires long enough to solder to the cbr's sub loom .
Now cut the cbr's sub loom so you have two wires per plug .
Then solder the cbr's plug to the vtr Plug
the total length should be rear 37cm and the front 50cm.
those are a bit longer than needed, but better too long than too short
I'd only add that it would be a good idea to have enough slack in the loom wires so that the wires can hang down below the entry point. This will allow condensation or r ain to drip off the wires rather than run down them into the cable entry holes.
Doesn't seem to be affected by rain fitted as is, but it seems a relatively simple safeguard, just in case.

So if i send Darren a Long and a short it should be okay looking at it

After removing black cover wrapping, you´ll see wires are long enough. I measured required lenght on bike instead of following recommended. Be careful not do damage front retaining clip holding the cable. It´s little bit tricky to release.
