STOLEN BLACK/YELLOW VTR1000F FIRESTORM ESSEX CM22

Post by conehead337 »

Stolen 27th/05/2012

I'm gutted that my first post on the forum is to inform that I'm no longer a storm owner

Woke up early this morning to go for a ride to find my bike gone.

The police are less than interested in even attempting to investigate. So I suppose as usual I will have to make the effort myself.

Reg R767 HKX

Remus exhausts

seat cowel

carbon fender extender

carbon hugger

carbon tax disc holder

crack in the offside mirror

brand new Road pilot 3 tyres front and rear

standard fairing

scottoiler 'leaks a little'

temp guage doesn't work but doesn't overheat

Just been serviced

(even a full tank of fuel!)

I don't think i have to ask,
Any info will be greatly appreciated,

Sorry to hear such gutting bad news on your first post. CM22 = Bishops Stortford? Was it stolen from your home/street/garage? Was it locked?

Bigger and clearer pics would be handy in getting an ID.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Thanks for the replies.

I Cant take any better photo's :(

I bought the bike last july and have spent every moment blasting around on it. not photographing it.

Ive posted on FB too.

I Live in Hatfield Heath, Nr Bishops Stortford and Harlow.

It was Stolen from my front garden. We have a busy house, no idea how they managed to get it ou without anyone noticing.

Gonna be drowning my sorrows today, then replace the bike tomorrow,

The weather is too good to be without a bike,
I cant even explain how I feel today.
I hope I never catch the theif personally, I wont be responsible for my actions

The bike wasnt locked, they havent got the keys though,

Its datatagged too,
woman in police call centre thismorning 'whats datatagged?' 'weve put you on our anpr database if the bike turns up we'll phone you'

They're really bothered.

only distinguishing mark i suppose, i cut down the original rear mudguard/no plate holder to half length cos i was too tight to buy the proper tailtidy and associated bits.

Thanks again.

PS anywhere you have posted info could you give me a quick link so I can keep an eye on them.
I need to feel like im doing something about it.

I have just spoken to my eldest daughter and she was in The Sun Pub in Nazeing (along the crooked mile) this afternoon and heard a couple of bikes racing toward the pub. Two bikes screamed into the entrance, both riders in shorts, T-shirts & helmets one of the bikes was a GSX-R the other, a black VTR with high level pipes. They then screamed off back towards Harlow.
She didn't get the reg number but reckons both riders looked too young to be on that size of bike.
I know it's not of much use fella or even an exact siting but it may give you a pointer to where you should be looking.

Oh that's terrible news. I'm in Essex too Brentwood way, so I'm often floating round Brentwood, Ongar etc.

Can you give us the frame number so we can cast an eye over any we might see parked up?
I know it's more than likely going to end up as spares (watch ebay for an account, or several from the same area, selling familiar parts).
IIRC you can put a watch on a search on ebay and it'll let you know when it's are listed matching your description.

Really feeling for you right now.

BTW, looks like another distinguishing thing, the sissy bar on the back. That's not standard. It looks like mine, a Renntec. Was that still fitted when they took it?

Feel for you mate, mine was knicked just before Christmas.

Get it plastered all over Facebook / tw@tter etc and go round all the bike shops / pubs etc with a 'wanted' poster for their windows.
It worked for me, mine appeared parked up abandoned with a new battery fitted a week after being stolen.
Guess they realised it was too risky to try and sell on or break.

Keep a beady eye on ebay and gumtree too.

Hope it turns up in one piece mate.

The sighting in nazing is close to me.

my bike didn't have the carry rack on the back, had the rear seat cowl fitted and no rack.

the bike had remus cans, not high level but in standard location.

thanks kev L any leads are good. did she see the colours of the decals? she's a good girl if she knew about high level pipes...

I will be doing the WANTED/REWARD posters today, its fustrating cos every time i think about doing something I think 'I'll take the bike'

I'll post the frame numbers today. i'm sure it will end up as parts, I'll be keeping a very keen eye on the 'theftbay' in the coming weeks

Thankyou so much guys
I'm loving the support.

gonna see if i can find any photo's too. I did a trackday at snetterton, i could purchase a track photo.

Sorry mate, I spoke to her this morning and she didn't mean hi level but very loud. She owns a cbr600rr and her partner has an R1 road bike, R1 track bike and a 750 Monster so they both have a fair idea what they are looking at. The bikes drew their attention because of the way they were being ridden and the age/dress of the riders, also the fact they recognised the Storm as I have one.
