Beasties Insured

Post by pinkyfloyd »

Policy runs out at the end of the month so while I got paid today I thought best get it renewed for another year. It goes a little like this:

Currently insured with Dial Direct with 3 years no claims at the cost of £97 for the year. Letter came though today saying its almost time to renew and the best quote they could offer me is £196 for the year with (now) 4 years no claims.

Sod that. Went to Quidco and then to Gocompare and I got £1 cashback from Quidco for doing that. Got my comparisons and the best offer was £93 from Swinton.

Went back to Quidco with my policy ref number from Swinton and through Quidco I went to the Swinton website and retrieved my quote. Quidco offer £27 cashback for a Swinton Motorcycle Policy.

So facts and figures:

4 years no claims
TPFT cover
£250 compulsory excess
£0 voluntary excess
Protected no claims
Pillion carriage
(hopefully other bike cover as I asked for it)

All for £65. (£93 for poilicy, £27 cashback + £1 cashback from quidco).

Not bad at all me thinks.

Oh and I forgot to add its insured for 3 grand. I updated the policy and added a little more each time and it never increased the premium. I got as far as 3 grand before thinking I was taking the piss.

Swinton are in the game it seems - got £56 TPFT in Feb when MCE wanted £140 odd for an auto-renewal.

Just tried them for a quote online, just out of interest (I've only just renewed) but they wouldn't quote as I'd changed the cans

Here's mine just renewed with Bennetts, been there for five years now and it gets better every year ( and No, I don't work for them)

My 2001 SP 1, my 2011 CBR 600F and my old 1980 250 Superdream, fully comp £450 total excess for £208 for 3 bikes. Yep, includes 90 days abroad and a few, just a few, of the usual stuff.
