Renthal bar vibration

Post by futterbingers »

Hello, have finally done the renthal bar conversion, which is mucho better for the riding position, but now have numb hands from vibes after around 40 miles+, I've put in the 'weedy' bar ends from renthal (weights? - not really!) but this, if anything, seems to make the problem worse. Anyone else found this problem and cured it? (without resorting to putting the std bars back on?) :confused

I get no vibration with mine but I don't have any bar ends fitted.
Is your front wheel balanced ?

Standard Storm bar end inserts and ends may fit, depending on bar internal diameter.
They're heavier than most aftermarket ones.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Just been and looked - it's balanced. It's got carb-cough, so probably needs carbs balancing, not sure if this is related? Seems to be worse low down revs.

The std bar inserts are huge compared to the ultra low diameter bars, but good thought though!

Not since I've had it, but they feel pretty good, I'll have a look for brace things

This might sound silly but i found putting sand in the bars stops the vibration. I've done this when i had my fazer thou and put renthals on, it seems the sand acts as a damper for the vibration.

I think I have one of the Renthal cross bars lying around if you want it.

As has been said, bar brace and end weights, plus if you get desperate fill the bars with something (I know some on other forums have used lead shot for this but would not recommend handling lead)

My Z750 did the same, got used to it after about a year! The seat was a right plank too, eventually got more padding and reupholstered.

I'd have thought with sand you'd need to load it into bags to stop it just flying about, but how do you keep them in place with Renthals or similar bars?
With standard Storm clip-ons you could fill the whole thing.
