Rear Link / Rear Shock
Hi guys just thought id let you know about another job i decided to tackle today. Iv just bought a set of 4 ratchet straps from T K Max. They cost me £10! and can lift the bike off of the floor with esase!!! ( i used 2 of em along with a set of Ali step ladders) This allowed me to strip, clean, re-grease and re-fit the bikes rear link / rear shock. The bike was left over night (in the winds and rain) and never moved. I was able to clean the needle bearings out with plenty of WD40 then dry them off and re-pack with Hight Temp grease. Jobs all done and all went well (for a f*cking change) any way got the ratchets sat here so if ya wanna borow just ask. L8r

Well done mate, top job. Did you manage to take any pics to illustrate how you did it for newer members?

That's good news Darren, it's nice when everything goes to plan, and have a sense of achievement at the end of it. Your bike will love you for it, all that height grease and stuff.

That's good idea, and cheap

Re: Rear Link / Rear Shock
You can see how much weight it's holding up, just look at the top tread.
Great invention ratchet straps though.
Just thought of something. Next time put a bit of timber across the top of that tread before throwing the straps over. It will strengthen it out a bit and not damage the edges of the tread.

Looks like a decent set up and a nice large area to work on the bike, put a gazebo up and your sound what ever the weather too

Put a gazebo up, I'd call it a garage.

Darren, what you need is a bit of brake fluid over that blockwork patio. Host the next workshop day and that can be sorted for you!!!

Don't listen to him Darren, it's not worth the shame of having a blue Storm parked up outside your house, it's the only thing the neighbours commented on, how it lowered the tone of the village.Kev L wrote:Darren, what you need is a bit of brake fluid over that blockwork patio. Just a little example of the "locals" -

The only complaints I heard were of the mediocre colours other than the Blues. Oh and of tripping over the rather ghostly silver ones!!

Trouble is this photo isn't far from the truth!Kev L wrote:Just a little example of the "locals" -
As I have pointed out before, I'm not from round these here parts so I'm not related to any of my neighbours.
