Replacment side stand

Re: Replacment side stand
I bought a CBR1000R on an '09 side stand a couple of weeks ago, just delivered Weds, and it doesn't straight swap. On first inspection it looks the part - a nice 15 mm id say longer, but when I took off the old stand, two things (important) stood out -
1. The inner hole was twice the size as old, so it would be loose and only be held by outer hole.
2. There are no 'nobbles' where it contacts the side stand switch.
I can only guess that the later one was changed..... I will keep searching as I've gone for 4mm spacer and would like the longer stand!!
Ill put this on ebay later I think - only paid £4 +£3.50 del anyway!!
Darren, for yours, do you know what year CBR1100 it came off?

No it wont as it's only the early models where the stand fits. You will also notice that they are more expensive on the bay as well. About £30 ishbought a CBR1000R on an '09 side stand a couple of weeks ago, just delivered Weds, and it doesn't straight swap

CBR1000RR 04-07. You need to change only the side stick. Sensor and bracket held in place.

Re: Replacment side stand
Oh and Griff i didnt use the main bracket that it came with (has holes for 2 largish bolts) as only one of the holes lined up. However once id taken this off the stand it was a direct replacement and the side stand switch locating pin just slotted straight in. If your still avin prob's ill switch em back and post some detailed photos.

New side stand fitted- more upright than original! Using 4mm spacer so 'room for growth' when I put the full 6mm in! Pre & post pics to follow!

Re: Replacment side stand
The only problem with this mod is if you have a rear tyre puncture.
The tyre goes down, and the bike falls over away from the stand.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
