Just wondering why the forks have to be removed, or do they?
At the bottom is a release nut, if this is removed wouldn't the oil drain out if the top is opened?
Why not change fork oil this way?

You could but you still have to remove the front wheel . And you also have to pump the fork to get all the oil out .
I find the normal way best that way you can set the air gap correctly with the forks upright

Ok, just wondered if it was possible, and why people don't do it

Once the front wheel's out, undo the mudguard bolts and the top and bottom yoke bolts and you've got the legs in your hand.
It's so much easier to do this than try to work on the bike, and although you could probably get air gaps fairly well set with the forks in the yokes they would be at an angle, so you could end up with a variation between legs.
And how are you going to get seals on?
I always change seals with fork oil; while you've got the parts out you might as well.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

They might be, but there was a poor quality batch a while back where the little coils springs inside each seal didn't work well enough, and they started to leak almost immediately.
I think(but I'm not sure) that these were cheap Wemoto pattern seals, but for this reason try to use genuine Honda ones myself.
Having said that I've fitted pattern ones for owners since, and no-one's been back since early last year to have a set re-done.
I posted a link in the Ebay section in Sales and Wants re some HRC ones....Blingy or what?
