Edds is quite right but that is with old worn chains not new. And especially if you go pulling wheelies And it is something to be aware of. There is a limit to how much they will stretch before snapping. A bit like an elastic band really. Didn't someone on here have a chain snap on them recently while away in, was it Spain somewhere.
If you play with sprocket sizes then you can get smaller or larger chains to compensate, or just do it yourself.

its about £15/£20 more than a renthal.
I like the look of those superprox ones!
However... the link plate almost on the line of the chain adjuster doesnt look like its on properly! And the rivets don't look like they have been flattened off all that well.
Semper in faecibus sumus, sole profundum variat! Silver 1998 'Storm! That keeps trying to kill me! And is leaving me soon!
when you see it in the flesh so to speak, you can see its a very nice piece of kit and very good quality, i just wish the chain adjusters weren't so bloody awful on firestorms, on must bikes you can bling them up a bit but not on the storm, although mr mon says he doing something about it

That will be me Was a 2nd hand chain on two 2nd hand sprockets of different orign. Couldn't have got a more mismatched setup. It snapping might support the idea that you should replace it all at the same time.
Because I was a bit stuck at the time I had to buy an RK chain which is rated as being weaker than the bike requires. It is visibly thinner than the last one. Could do with replacing it before this one snaps as well.
That reminds me, Marty get a new bloody chain fast or you are going to wear that supersprox out so quick. You have already done a bit more mileage than I would like with it. And the Adjusters are shite, I agree and wish honda adjusters where a bit more quality. Don't know why they have to have such a small nut that is not logical when it comes to which direction to turn it for tension. IMO my Fazer adjusters and bolts are much better, a far simpler set up.
Yes but with mine it's brand new, as in brand new.
So the only reason that it's near to the end of the adjustment travel is because of the smaller front sprocket. Taking a link out would not make it weaker would it? A chain is a chain regardless of how many links it has.
Scott your fine to remove links in a new chain to compensate for sprocket sizes. That's exactly what you should do, or buy a shorter chain. If you have new chain and sprockets you safe to remove links to the point of the minimum adjustment on the bike. Then over time as you have to adjust the chain you will see it stretch to it limit at the maximum adjustment / time to get new chain mark. By then you will need new sprockets as well.
Well done for blowing up the pic wicky, but be on the Mac I just I just hold the ctrl and two finger scroll (trackpad) or scroll wheel (mouse). Well handy when surfing the web.
eagle eyes the lot of you.....................also looks like the plate is on backwards as you can see the cricle marks from where the o-rings have rubbed
