Removing the OEM side light.
Removing the OEM side light.
A little while ago I saw a pic of a blue storm that has had the 'orrible sidelight removed and has obviously had a custom screen cut to fill the gap, I must say I really like it..
is it as simple as sourcing a larger screen from something like a blackbird and cutting it so it fits the storm bolt holes?

Re: Removing the OEM side light.
IIRC the hole for light was filled not by a screen but by covering the gap, filler etc. before painting over it.

I think you are right wicky. Isn't that Shayne's bike in Australia on the superhawk site.
I will try and find a pic.
Here you go..

Thats the one thanks Carl.
I wouldnt have bothered with those 2nd set of wheels tho IMHO, too much.

I also like what he has done with the engine casings and dash. That rippled paint is really effective. And the mirrors are superb, but a lot of tweaking to get them set up right. I think they are GSXR mirrors.
I think it's one of the cleanest looking moded storms a about and an inspiration. And strangely enough that Blue looks very cool.

The mirrors and the lack of sidelight bring the front end bang up to date dont they.

Re: Removing the OEM side light.
They are the best mirror I have seen. Genuine pars look better and are a better build quality than the aftermarkets.
Have a look on the superhawk site, IIRC Tweety has the same mirrors. He has a thread somewhere on the build for them.

Re: Removing the OEM side light.
The mirrors are custom jobbies. If you want some nice mirrors check out Tweaty's thread on the superhawk site for fitting GSXR mirrors.
I will try and find the link for you later.
