Also do I need a special socket attachment to undo these TPS bolts?
I'll have a torex for it but just noticed a little nubbin in the centre?

Grip it with a pair of pliers and turn it, easy when it's off the bike, then replace with some normal bolts

That's a good practical solution, Not as good as hammering in the nearest fitting Allen key when you don't have a torx bit though, that's reserved only for us farmers

i just chip the side of them with a hammer and screwy. they come loose easy enough.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Or just hacksaw a slot across the head and use a flat blade screwdriver.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Good luck getting it on 500 with the carbs on  You will have to remove the TPS off the carbs and bend the metal prong on the carb downwards slightly with some long nose pliers. It's the bottom prong as you look face on at the carbs (tps side obviously) Measure on the top two prongs on tps. Multimeter set at 2000 ohms (that's the symbol that looks like headphones  ) It should measure 1 when not connected to anything which is the resistance in the air.

You will find as you tighten the torx back up it will move slightly out of adjustment. So tighten as tight as you can where you can still move it slightly, well more of a jolt really! then nip the torx up and check again. Keep doing this until you can get it as close to 500 as you can, within tolerance of -10 +10 of 500. You may have to take it back off and bend the prong a bit more to move the tps anti clockwise more. Just be gentle and do a bit at a time and don't snap the prong on the carb

Security Torx.
