8mm inline fuel filter

I have just brought two inline filters (plastic / paper) with diameter 6mm to 8mm. I know the I.D. of the fuel pipe is 10mm, will the pipe contract down to the 8mm and will it restrict the fuel flow being smaller I.D. to a point where performance is restricted?

Had a rust problem with the tank which hopefully has been sealed with Petseal but just in case. Have not yet cut into pipe.

I fitted inline filter with smaller diameter on my gixer result= I was crimping the fuel line to a key hole effect causing a leak ! so for me, No dont do it Better that the fuel line is tight to fit = no leaks.

Got my old slabby tank and sent it away to get flushed out. I know of endless people how have had nothing but sh1t from that stuff
