Rev issue
Hi guys finally been able to take the bike out in the awesome weather we are having, pretty much the first time since doing the cct's. I had noticed that when the bike revs it would spin freely up the range but when it gets to about 2000 rpm it suddenly stops / slows down before continuing to reduce in revs. Also when accelerating away from a stand still the bike feels really sluggish until the revs are quite high (around 3000rpm upwards) then she just pulls And seems fine once on the move. I haven't to some degree been very convinced I had successfully adjusted my cct's correctly so on Thursday I stripped the bike and removed bothe cam covers and thanks f**k I did!!!! There was no play in the cam chains at all!! Very thankfully they hadn't snapped
. So re adjusted and measuered the chain play (around about 6/9mm) and refitted everything. The bike started up a lot better and feels better but the rev issue is still there. Has anbody got any ideas.

Re: Rev issue
Did you sort the leaking link pipe/header problem? as this can cause some fluffiness.

I bit concerning the CCTs seemed overtightened but now hopefully sorted - The first time round how did you do the tensioning?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Rev issue
Also check that you have enough play in the throttle cable, try letting the revs die down with the bars on both locks and see if there's a difference.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Rev issue
Hey Wicky used gun gum form halfords for the short term and is seems to have made it a little better but still a little blowy. So that could be the issue? From what i have seen the seals in the links pipes need replaced and new clamps needed, so need to get off my butt and sort it then

Re: Rev issue
Hi Tony tried it with the bars turned to both locks and it is still the same. When it was cold it seem to rev freely for a little while till it started to heat up a little more, then it started to pause around the 2000rpm mark before slowly continuing to reduce revs.
. The bike seems to run fine except for that little niggle
By the way i got a replacement fan, it had a damaged housing but just fitted the motor into my housing pretty easirly. But I broke a fan mounting point off my rad so will have to replace the rad at some point. The more I work on the bike the more I realise that at some point it has been in an accident, The rear subframe has been straightened, the right foot peg mount has been slightly bent in and there are alot of replacement parts that have been fitted. So will be a slow process of ironing out all the little niggles and problems I guess

Check that the tps is connected; it's the plug fitted alongside the carbs.
