Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine
When I get back to my bike mate I'll follow the pipes from the nubbins and try and take a pic of where they go to.
Although mines all back together now so I'll do my best bus. ;-)
Someone my confirm tho but I'm almost certain the 4 nubbins under the carbs are coolant. The inside two join together, and the outside two join to two seperate pipes (theses stay on the bike when you take the carbs off.

No worries I'll let you know mate

That's correct.scott02464 wrote:When I get back to my bike mate I'll follow the pipes from the nubbins and try and take a pic of where they go to.

The two long pipes are breathers that connect under the tank; one smaller diameter with (usually( a restrictor section near the top, and the other larger diameter but constant.
They just route down the LH side of the engine and exit to the LH front corner of the undertray.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine
Rite mate here goes,
The left side of the carbs
Outside nubbin, pipe goes to the right side if the bike and connects to here on the water pump

Then the right side of the carbs
The outside nubbin, pipe goes to the left side of the bike to the bottom of the thermostat housing, here

Then the two middle nubbins as you know join together with the small pipe (middle to middle)
So they are all deffo coolant hose related and all should be attached to something
Hope that helps dude and makes sense

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine
Yep that's right. Coolant hoses that are there to warm the carbs for de-icing in the winter.
RTFM
I believe one connects to the thermostat housing and the other connects to the water pump housing.
Tony is correct that there are the two breathesr from the tank which hang loose. IIRC one is the breather for the tank so it don't build up too much pressure and go BANG
and the other is the overflow from the filler cap in case one overfills at the petrol station.

Though both these item should not prevent the bike from starting. Coolant if you have any will piss out everywhere if you have filled the cooling system and those hoses are not connected.
So I would do as I suggested earlier, start with the basics. Have you got a spark (be carfuel with you improvised fuel tank around), is fuel getting through to the carbs. Alarm wiring. The Alarm wiring could be the problem here, an ignition cut out immobiliser.

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine

This picture, the one you posted is NOT a breather hose, it goes from the water pump on the right hand side of the bike to the left hand side of the carb to the outside nubbin.
It's NOT a breather hose.

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine
Then it should not be anywhere near to where it is in your pic, that breather should be at the rear of your tank!
Next to your finger in your pic,at the bottom of the carb, is there a nubbin with no hose attached?

Re: alternative way to get fuel into engine
What you have in your hand there could possibly be the other end of the larger of the two breather pipes. But it's next to the carbs and from the Pic we can see you have the hose disconnected from that carb nubbin. Treat them as two separate issues, carb hoses and breathers. Don't worry about the breathers from the tank for now, just make sure you have the two water hoses connected to the carbs. One from the thermostat side and one from the waterpump side. Trace them up and connect as appropriate according to the workshop pic I posted.
The breathers you can forget about for now as you don't have the tank. But one end should lead up to where the tank goes and the other end is fed to the bottom of the engine and hangs loose. In fact asy ou have no tank and the other ends are loose, you could just pull them out all together and then connect and re-route them when you putting the tank on.
I wish I was local to you, I'd come round and sort it out mate.
