Thanks wicky, I forgot about that link.

Gutted to read this news Carl, hope you manage to get them via the coppers, or perhaps the cops might just let slip the registered address.

Bike was looking good just before this, but I suppose the good news is it won't need rejetting

F***ing b*****ds. It's jealousy is that. So glad you got the reg and witnesses. Did you tell the police it looked deliberate? Did you take pics to prove there was no need for them to be close. Get the b*****ds for road rage (instant ban).
Hope there's a happy ending in this for you fellah. Try and think of anything you need doing to the bike that you can add to the repair bill. It's not immoral, it's a way of being compensated for the upset and stress. Keep us informed and good luck.

Ouch poor Blackie !

Pain in the ass all right, but at least the damage seems light.

Hope the cops come down hard on them, basically complete & utter tossers...( the perps not the bill...in this case..)

If you have sufficient witnesses to this they should be getting nicked for criminal damage as there was nothing "accidental" about the incident. I am really sorry to hear about this incident mate, it takes away your faith in human nature. How can knobs like this thrive whilst good folk suffer?
If you need a mirror I have one, but can't remember which side, but I don't think I have anything else on your broken bit list.

Thanks for all the comments. Kev the mirror itself luckily is not smashed but it scratched/scraped all the end of of the casing. I'm thinking of upgrading to a pair with built in indicators anyway. I'm going to look at this from a positive side of being to do some of the things that are on my Upgrade/repair list. It justthat I being forced to do it all sonner rather than later.

As the reg number has been taken and from what I was told without the old bill breaking the data protection act and the number confirms the vehicle I thought it was on the MID site. They will be caught, so I shall wait and see what comes from it. I'm going to leave the bike as it stands for now. When I was on the phone they said they will probably be charged with driving away from a scene of an accident, which is a fairly serious charge in itself. Also either they will be made to pass over their insurance details or made to pay for damages.

It was definitely deliberate, I have no doubt about it. It's a shame my only witness is my friend, but neighbours over the road did come rushing out when they heard the crash and then go running back indoors. If only it was caught on camera :(

words fail me !! good to hear your looking at it as an opportunity to improve than being totally gloomy.

with things like this i often wonder if its possible to take out some sort of separate legal action . you hear about crazy legal judgements all the time and you are a genuine victim?

on the the ncd side of things i have heard insurers say its a "no claim" discount not a "no blame" discount so if you claim and its not protected they may well have you! if that is the case tony,s earlier advice is sound..

That's outrageous, to purposely ram into a 58 year old cyclist. People like that should be locked in a cage. A 2m square box where they can't stand or lay down. Stick them in there for 6months and see how they feel afterwards.

This world is getting to the stage where they need to bring back some medieval punishments as current punishments don't appear to work. I would like to see some of these miss-behaving hoodies that abuse people put in stocks outside parliament. It would give me great pleasure to bombard them with rotten fruit and sh1t. A lot cheaper to deal with them that way as well.

Apart from feeling sorry for the poor sod who would have to clean it up afterwards I kind of agree with you on this one.
