It looks like it should, but the only bit that concerns me looking at the pic is where the blank is for a 6th pin there is a plastic bit there. That may have to be cut out for the plug on the VTR to fit straight on. Also the spade pins either side of that seem to be slightly longer.
Get a second opinion first
CBR125's are a direct replacement, you can pick them up cheap. Or the R1/R6 are very good R/R's but the plug on the VTR will need cutting off and spade connectors put on to fit.
in answer to your question i dont know but when i switched off after a 20 mile blast this morning i noticed a smell a bit like gun caps and smoke coming out of the rear cowl!! it looks like its just the r/r up the creek ? i may be lucky
so the first step is to get a better replacement then see if the battery is bejazered
cheers mate.

Oops sounds like it has been overcharging and the battery will most likely be fried mate. Hence the cap type smell, that will be the battery acid frying which then warp's and damages the cell plates. Give the wiring a good going over as well.

good news!! new 2nd hand R/R turned up this morning and ive popped it on and the old girl fires straight up lights, hooter ,indicators and everything else seems ok so i think i have been lucky. no time to put the cowl back on but will do later and have a spin. where can i get the little clips that go in from underneath? they were broken and the screw bit was held in with black tape so they got a bit butchered when i took it to bits. halfrauds i guess?

I would check the charging with a multi-meter just to be on the safe side. It should show between 13.5 and 15.5 volts with the engine running at the battery terminals. Yes Halfords sell those panel clips, well they did the last time I was there
