I've decided to shoehorn my VTR lump into a B12 frame with mods because I like the shape of the petrol tank



Trouble is there isnt enough room for the air box



Dose anyone know of an after market "K'n'N" type filter conversion that might work



I thougnt if it was on flexable hose mounts I could locate them in the frame each side oftbe front cylinder.

You could always make a new air box with the same volume as standard

could you get away with using the bottom half of the airbox and maybe one of those mwr filters that will be on sale soon, you wiil only be saving a couple of inches in height tho.

Or fit a couple of KN cone-type filters onto some old inlet stubs, then you won't need an airbox at all.
The stacks mount directly on the airbox plate, and can be shaped to accept the K+N's.

It will definitely need setting up on a dyno, and it's not easy to get right, apparently.

But when was that ever a reason not to do something?

I happen to have a spare pair of new 48-52mm K+N filters for that exact purpose.
Worth a bit of a play, I thought, but haven't had time or dyno setup money yet.

Might sell the K+N's, though, if you want to have a go?

Wow, you got some innovative ideas going on there. Can you flip the visor lid and chuck stuff in there like a top box. Nice big rear wheel you got there. With regards to the airbox have you thought about maybe getting some flat side carbs.

When its finished the visor will be in the half up position and inside there will be two round tail lights. when I break the person will see two red eyes glaring at them

Have a look at rob.... chopper street fighter Superhawk VTR of the month. He had a single carb mounted to one side if I remember correctly.

Flat sides (FCR) carbs specifically made for the VTR are expensive and hard to come by, but there maybe other options out there. It would make it a lot easier to run without an airbox or attach cone filters straight on.

nipples oh yes thanks for them .
i went out on sunday for a blast and used some more slider on the rhs i still need to get my left down .
i dont get much time on the bike when im on lates any more .
pluss im waiting for postman to bring me some carbon and titanium parts
