They have that effect, it's a Marmite bike, either love it or hate it. It's amazing how many people regret selling them, but only realise this after they have sold it.
If you are fairly mechanically minded and know one end of a spanner from the other then CCT's is not that big of a job. Should take you no more than an afternoon. Don't follow a Haynes manual as it has detrimental mistakes in it, but follow the instructions in the link above and you will be fine. Have a good read through the forum, do a search on cam chain tensioners as there are plenty of posts regarding them, And if you have any questions then ask away.
