Nice one Kev, would a VFR tank be just as good fit? I know they are not 25l

I think it's stratman that fitted one but didn't get on with it. They can be made to look like they were meant to be there with a little work, but it isn't a simple matter of replacing like with like.

It's a hell of a lot of work! You need to panel beat the bottom of the tank, remove the old fuel pump, make up gaskets to take the fuel tap, make brackets to take the front of the tank etc. They just sit too high at the back unless you actually trim back the saddle as they are an inch or so longer.

IMHO I wouldn't bother trying the VFR route

That would be good. I have an old 16L tank here I would like to convert/enlarge somehow.

That 25L looks like the larger 19L tank that has been converted by extending the base to make it 25. But it would be interesting to see how it sits. It looks like the recessed bit around the bottom would slide on the inside of the frame. But how does this sit in the middle on the airbox. I would like to see a pic of the base.

I was thinking of doing an Orange county chopper job and angle grinding midpoint and pulling it up and filling the gaps. The base would have to be taken off to get good welds on the inside of bits used to fill the gaps and then the base could be welded back on.

Been in touch with him other day but he no pics, would be great for my commuting that 25ltr :-)
