well really not impressed tday like i was told on here that an x-11 side stand is a direct swap to fit my firestorm in order to lengthen the side stand afta putting in a rear shock shim but i went to fit it afta hassle getting old one off and the holes for the bolts are wider apart than the standard one so i cnt fit it , lol
ooooo thank god for that .. now i just need to try n get the rounded off bolt out off the sensor ha ha cheers for that mate seriously thought i messed up n got the wrong stand ha ha
i know tell me bowt it this bike is full of rounded off bolts and they always the ones i need to get off ha ha . nightmare .. i need to get the sensor off the kick stand but i cnt get the little bolt out to do so lol
when i first got mine i removed every nut and bolt (not engine mounts)
gave them a clean and a coat of copper slip and refitted .
some had to be replaced after i used the grinder to remove them .
What's needed is a NASA developed copper grease applying toothbrush as recently used on the Space Station - I've got the last 2 left = to you only one billion pounds inc p&p
"...during a spacewalk last week, Sunita Williams and Akihiko Hoshide were unable to drive home a bolt to needed install the unit, apparently because of some metal debris on the bolt or bolt housing. Using some jury-rigged tools, including a toothbrush on a metal handle, today they removed the debris. This this time the bolt went in without a hitch. Signals on the ground showed the new unit was working."
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
any1 have any ideas of why my clutch is not working ?? i took the bit off on the side of the engine the 3 bolts holding the circle over the rod .. its been put bak on and now clutch does not work .. none of the pipes have been removed so no fluid has been emptied and no air has gone in assumably .
the long rod that the mechanism assumablyy wen u pull clutch lever is supposed to be pushed inwards ? well if i try pushing that rod in by hand it doesnt mnove so confuses me to wat the push mechanism ment to do kinda makes me think summin has gone wrong ?
you wont be able to push that rod by hand..
is the clutch slave piston(on the sprocket cover) moving when you pump the clutch lever(on the lhs clip on) ?
oh rite i didnt realise it wud need bleeding if i didnt remove pipes lol maybe thats all the problem is then lol will have to find a bleeding pipe now then lol ..
and as for the burning smell no not yet still smokes but cnt figure it out . i need to give it a run outside tbh but its a rite mess on tryna get it outside lol
i took the bit off on the side of the engine the 3 bolts holding the circle over the rod
Great description.
As wicky said this always happens unless you tie back the brake lever before removing. If you had just cable tied the clutch lever in you would not have to bleed the clutch. So you will now have to go to the bother of bleeding the clutch. Why did you have to remove the circle thing. Clutch slave cylinder mate.
i know i shudda asked lol tell ya summin tho this bike rebuild wudda been a disaster if it wasnt for all the help from this forum .. its been a lifesaver tbh
