Hyperpro rear spring.

Have fitted a Hyperpro prgresive rear spring, as in picture, according to the Hyperpro manual, the tightly coiled springs should be at the top of shock, but with this it looks as though it dont sit quite right, hence why I fitted it with tight coil at bottom.

Has anyone else either fitted a Hyperpro rear spring, or have you got one already fitted to your bike, could you tell me what way round you fitted the spring, Thanks.

Dont have a Hyperpro rear spring me self, but do have their fork springs.

If the instructions say tight coils at the top that's the way they should be fitted regardless of how it looks to you. There should be a phone number on the paperwork, give them a ring & ask them, if you have any doubts.

Thanks for reply, I got the spring from Calsport, called them, they don't have a clue, called H M racing suspension specialists, they say, they fit them with tight coils at bottom. Left scratching my head. Seems to handle ok as it is.

If I was to fit it as per manual, the pre load adjuster would only just be sitting on spring, as they are tapered springs? (about 10mm width difference from top to bottom of spring).

I recently fitted hyperpro front springs, they are excellent, compared to the rubbish standard springs, no more bottoming out, fork dive etc, well worth the 116 pound cost.

I'm not 100% sure, but I would say it won't matter which way round it goes.

It's a spring, so when you compress it the forces act equally from both ends - even though you are only pushing one end. Hope that makes sense.

I recently fitted hyperpro front springs, they are excellent, compared to the rubbish standard springs, no more bottoming out, fork dive etc, well worth the 116 pound cost.

Very happy with them, deff better than standard but then any of the aftermaket springs will be better than standard. Remember when pricing things up for the fork rebuild to add the cost of seals, dust seals & top & bottom bushes they will all need doing whilst you have the forks in bits. Most of the springs come with fork oil in the kit but check before ordering.

I brought what i thought was a standard shock a while back. it came with a set of wheels for a extra £20. Anyway under closer inspection it is a standard shock with a heperpro spring on it badly painted yellow (?????). Just fitted it but not ridden it yet .

Anyone else tried one?

i have maxton front springs and they seem to work well with the standard rear spring ... i will give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks for the feedback

I'll all depend on how many miles the standard shock has done, and if the spring is weight related to your own body weight, plus setting it with the correct static sag, or as near as you can get it. I ran a Maxton spring on my standard rear shock for many years, it was definitely an improvement over the standard shock spring,
