You can borrow mine if you want Lee. PM me your address and I can pop over in the afternoon mate.

Have you got a vacuum take off hose on the front and one off the rear cylinder?

Brentwood North London is not miles away. Anyway you need the take off hoses attached to the bike. One off the front cylinder and then a T Peice with pipe on the rear one that connects on the tank. http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=18430

I bought my vacuum pipe and adapters from http://www.carbtune.com/ under accessories. It's worth getting this done while your carbs are off. But once that's done it's a 2min job to sync the carbs.

Yeh it's a bit of a trek. Get you vacuum hoses sorted and we can sort the sync out anytime. Next time at the bakers or something. Weather is supposed to be getting better again next week. Lets see how you get on with the jetting first  If needs be I will pop over to you, but I can't do this Saturday as I need to finish of the lacquering on my paintwork.

Well the tank etc is gonna be off anyway so i thought it would be easy to sync them at the same time ie no need for take offs ??

or am i missing something ?

You would still need the T Peace in the rear vacuum as the line cannot attach to the tank and the gauges at the same time. Also on the front cylinder not only is it difficult (near enough impossible) to remove or replace the cap without the carbs being removed. When the bolt is removed there is just a threaded hole. The pipes on the carbtune are just pipes. I haven't any adapters for it.

A malnourished YTS or work experience urchin with tiny hands is given the job of temporarily installing the front takeoff adapter.

or they use a flexishaft screwdriver/socket extenders to get by the carbs, with the airbox off, to get the blanking allen bolt out and fit an adapter with a bit of hose.

I guess if you took it to a garage, unless they have very small hands, remove airbox and attach a line, put all back together, Sync the carbs, then strip it all down again to remove the line and put the bolt back in. And for the rear use a T Peice and and some spare vac hose.

Cheers for the offer mate, but unless you're coming this way anyway don't worry, bit of a trek for you. Might order some bits from carbtune to fit permanent take offs ( should have done this earlier...doh ).

Your phone number hasn't gone onto my new phone. Can you pm me with it. Ta !!
