A firestorm won't stand a chance, I did a couple of meetings on my old one back in 2000 (still hold a Lydden race speed record on it )I'd just come from five years on SS600 bikes so was well upto pace, but up against a gsxr750/rsv etc it just wouldn't be good enough unless you spend lots on it, eg you'd need it to be pushing 130rwhp (big £££'s) a slipper clutch, complete suspension rework and some weight lose i reckon. Even then you will probably run into ground clearance issues with the front downpipe, i nearly wore through mine in only 2 meets, wasn't too bad on a fairly flat track but you'd have trouble at the bombhole at snett, entering clearways, brands. Lydden, but i doubt you'll go there, maybe charlies2 at cadwell. I could go on.....
I'd say best bet is a GSXR750Y or K1 or an Early Aprillia RSVMilleR, you'll pick them up if your lucky for under £2k then spend £500 on suspension and off you go, then tweak it as you have more dosh...Good luck with it. I'm having more fun than ever racing in Post Classic these days
