Heated Grips

I've ordered a pair of Oxford sports heated grips - I've had them on my Deauville for years and love them - and was wondering if anyone can point me at fitting instructions for a Storm? I would look to wiring back to the battery via a fuse, and fitting a relay from a suitable ignition feed.

Where is a suitable ignition controlled feed, where is a good place to put the relay?

I put the relay for mine by the battery, tie wrapped onto the subframe.

Can't remember where I got the ignition feed from but I do remember I just poked about with a volt meter until I found one. I can have a look tomorrow if you want?

Didn't bother with the relay at first as the instructions claimed it would shut itself off when the voltage got too low, but not low enough for the bike not to start. First time
I left it one it did turn itself off, but the bike wouldn't start

I used the feed to the rear brake light to power up the relay as tat is nice and close to the battery

+1 on the rear brake light, I've always used it when fitting grips or other accessories, it has permanent live when ignition is on and it's easy to get to.

I fitted the relay same side as the R/R. Took a live off tha tail light so only work with lights on. If I set off on max heat setting, byswitching the lights off and back on they Default to the lowest setting. The controller is mounted on the fairing bracket near the Choke knob.

that's a neat little fix, may have a go at that myself (flatty take note )
