Hellllllllooooo!

Post by Benno_0214 »

Hi everyone,

After owning quite a few different bikes over the past few years r1, rsv, tl, gsxrs, and most recently a ktm duke I decided I needed a v twin back in my life so I did a deal and am now the proud owner of this storm! :D

Image

Its completely standard apart from the screen that put on when I first got it! :cool2

next on the list; vfr clip ons.

what does everyone think, ive cleaned it up a LOT since I bought it although im planning on using it right through the winter so im going to have a lot of that to do!

Hey! Thanks! :D Yep I ride all year round (unless its really bad weather). My wife uses the car so I commute on the bike daily, got to admit I HATE getting the bike dirty, especially this time of year! I live in the country so there is a lot of mud on the roads at the mo! :x The hosepipe is working overtime!

I used mine through three winters and it did make a mess of it. Salt is a bitch.

Then again I didn't really look after it and it's mainly cosmetic. My commute is too long now for cold weather else I would carry on using it

A few of the roads I used to use flooded badly and I went through them on the Storm (with feet stuck up in the air) but I wouldn't have tried it in the car.

Have a read through this as it's recently been discussed:-

And welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum. You have one of the best colour storms there. Much speed.

My bike is my only form of transport so I ride all year as well. The only thing that stops me is heavy snow that's settled or lots of ice.

Welcome Ben, you chose wisely, understated, sleek, slender and oh so fast are those thoroughbred black beauties. Where are you located?

Use mine all year, although saving fuel atm and cycling. Brrr

I will take it off your hands for say 500 notes so it don't get dirty. She can sit next to my red one and take notes on how to go faster. I think the electirc blanket is big enough to go over both of them.

Haha!! Good try! in fact at this very moment it's isn't a black storm it's more like a pooey brown colour! Farmers near me are leaving so much mud on the roads (potato time) at the moment I think the bike thinks its a off roader! :sad2
I'm in Herefordshire, near the welsh border.
Got the vfr bars today, so gonna have a look at fitting them this weekend, I got ones from a 1990 vfr as I heard these would fit, hopefully help make to muddy commute a bit more comfortable.

This may be of use to you regarding the VFR bars http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 03#p203186 You may or may not have to trim the fairing. When I fitted some on mine I did not, as the controls missed the fairing because I have my forks dropped 10mm.

Nice one, I had thought about cutting fairing but if I can get away without doing that I will, was thinking I may try drilling and tapping a couple m4 stainless cap heads into the steering lock stops, will shorten the lock a bit but I'm not too worried, will see what options I have when I fit the bars. Cheers for the link :)

Welcome to the forum Ben

A little bigger photo would be good, but from what I can see you've been busy cleaning
