Hi everyone.

Post by firemink »

Kind of done this butt about face. This is my second post, first one was in workshop, re Stopper Mod. Bought my VTR three weeks ago 10000 miles, absolute minter loving the bike, machine is so much fun, love the torque and feel of it. I have owned numerous bikes R1, Fireblade and Honda Blackbird not to mention numerous other oddities like supermotos and muscle bikes. Got say it, the Firestorm may not be as fast but has so much more character than my previous machines. I also own a Kawasaki VN 900 twin cruiser, not quick but lovely for touring and with the Mrs.

I did the stopper mod yesterday having read concerns over cam chain tensioner failures. Read in workshop section! Don't let this put you off. I'm no mechanic but with the advice on the Forum I did it without any major issues. Took me all day, bike running as sweet as a nut!

Great forum..

Yes well done on the stopper, a simple solution to a problem. You will have even more fun without that playing on your mind. So what's next on your to do's.

Welcome to the forum.

You are right about wanting you do more!
I think a hugger, braided hoses and better bloody headlight this winter. Interested in changing oil cooler pipes those chrome ones are okay but could be better. Maybe a fairing lower. Can't seem to post a picture of the bike on the site, any advice?

For pictures you need to use an image hosting site like photobucket, imagshack or equivalent, then you can just copy and paste the code across if the img tags are with the code. If not then use the Img tag button at the top of the post and insert in between them.
