so i did the stopper mod, got it all back together and it started brilliantly. 10 mins later the bike cuts out..... i find ive put the vacuum hose back on in the wrong place..... so i swapped it back and bike starts up fine and runs for 10 mins and cuts out again
because i turned the fuel tap off and on so many times i cant remeber which way is on??
After finding the vacuum hose was on the wrong pipe, I thought id check if i had the tap on or off so i searched and found a thread with a picture of the tap in the off position.... so it set my tap to on ( according to the thread ) and no joy..... just turned it to off and hey presto she runs!
Bit weird but suppose i should have made better note of what it was before i took the tank off!
anyone got any info on the fuel tap on/off positions?
So Carl your saying that yours is the opposite to the picture too? I suppose if it works the wrong way round it doesn't matter..... It works and that's the main thing!

Your confusing me now.
I have just been out and double checked and yes, on mine it's all the way clockwise for off and anticlockwise is back on.
I'm sure it says on or off or even both on the metal part of the tap under all the crustiness as well. I have never cleaned mine as I have never got so confused. It can only be one of two ways.
You may want to check you got the front hoses back on properly at the front of the airfilter, they can be fiddly to get on. I'm not sure it would make the bike cut out though, but it would run a bit uneven.
Thanks for checking, I had a LOT of trouble removing one of the pins from the cct when I did the stopper mod and I've literally done a 12 hour shift on the bike ,I shall have another look tommorrow about the fuel tap but at least I know it's running even if the on/off ha confused the hell out of me!
