picked up my storm 2 days ago seems as fast as my tl 1000 probaly due to the fact its been jetted and running microns its sounds awesome very loud only 2 complaints (which i can live with) 1 its a thirsty b8stard i rang its neck got 70 miles from full to a petrol light :)2 it shakes it head very slighty on pull off this may be due to my cheap sh1t rear tyre or the fact it has no damper and my tl did so i feel much more through the bars .ie the rear wheel trying catch my front all in all so far a great bike uber chicken

Glad your enjoying it Teagie, just get used to visiting filling stations a lot. My storm will shake its head a little when the front goes light but I rather enjoy pretending that I'm living on the edge a bit. In reality I don't think the Storm has a reputation for slapping you, so just enjoy the liveliness.
I'll now wait for all those who've fitted a steering damper to tell me I'm talking dangerous b*llocks.
(As opposed to just talking plain b*llocks as usual)
Check the suspension settings, as the front springs from Honda are way, way too soft, and the rear is a bit too hard. I've got my front preload all the way in, and the rear set on the lowest setting, but I'm on the high side of 14 stone. I've also got a scotts damper, as I tankslapped her into a ditch last summer. With the suspension now set correctly, it doesn't shake, but then again I'm paranoid.
I do have a damper fitted but that's because it was on it when I bought it.
You could check the suspender settings, tyre pressure & condition of the tyre... Other then that the steering head bearings. But as said before in other posts - there is no history of 'head shaking' with the VTR...
If you take it easy (consistent throttle) you will see a better mpg but it will never be great ... who cares! It's the bits between petrol pumps that counts
I have had head shaking on mine, when I had a 5mm spacer fitted. It was only at high speed when the front gets light. I used to have a low speed wobble but replacing the head bearings got rid of that.
Mine has shook its head a few times but i was wringing its neck and i havent altered my suspension at all yet nothing major just reminding me its there
Fuel consumption differs a LOT with the storm, depending how you ride (naturally). Just gotta adjust the attitude. If I have to pull up at 130 (that's kilometres... don't know conversion, sorry) for fuel, I feel I've given'er a good go. Get a bit depressed when I get 200 odd k to the tank (I'm on a 99, so still the smaller tank). Feel like I haven't "ridden" in a while...
