Speaking of which, are there any firms that can fit a larger tank? The range on this bike seems a little limited if cross Europe touring is your idea of fun. Being new to VTRs I woner if this is a common mod or not.
Route Napoleon anyone? - if you haven't done it you've all got to do it once in your lives...South of France - goes from Cannes to Valence (it's the road that the mach speed videos were filmed on). Excellent tarmac, unbelievable views, great knee down corners (that is if you can which I can't but my mate could...
) and a police force who seem to think that going slowly on a fast bike is actually a bookable offence....we were cheered on by the French motorbike police as we were hammering up the hill, just brilliant! Loads of cheap campsites around, cheap beer, and you can hook up on your way back a quick diversion to the Nurburgring. Also a must do experience!

Know it well, as its on the doorstep of my gite and close to several hang-gliding sites. I'm off there in a week's time, via the Auvergne. Hope that the two-litre spare 'tank' in my throwover wont be needed. Sure as hell won't be travelling at night. Btw I've heard that the last litre in the Storm tank is a figment of Mr Honda's imagination, so don't assume that you've got 4 litres left when the light comes on. I would'nt like to go much beyond 20 miles with the light on.Route Napoleon anyone? - if you haven't done it you've all got to do it once in your lives...South of France - goes from Cannes to Valence (it's the road that the mach speed videos were filmed on). thought i read somewhere that the way they work out the size of the tank is by displacement rather than capacity, people just assume its capacity and they are happy to let you believe that cos it sounds better. i.e. the tank dropped in a tank full of water will take up the same ammount of room as 16litres of water(or what ever fluid they use), thats why you cant get 16 litres in them from empty, same with car fuel tanks!!
