Don't forget the 7mm for carb sync8mm-17mm spanners is what i find i use the most

Everything in the Honda toolkit is pretty much all you will need.
common spanner sizes
7, 8,10, 12, 13, 14
sockets is the same again and depending on accessibility either a spanner or socket can be used. The above sizes are good for 3/8 inch drive stuff, but with sockets add larger sizes for things like wheel spindles but these would have to be a larger 1/2. or just use the tools in the Honda toolkit for those. As a general rule 3/8 inch drive sockets are good up to about 19mm but once you get over that, then it's time for a 1/2 inch drive. And don't forget socket extension bars
A set of allen keys
Medium sized philips screwdriver and flat head screwdriver
A pair of pliers
A pointy hose tool is handy, looks like a pointy hook that can be pushed under hose to break the seal before pulling off and doubles up as a guide for lining up holes before inserting a screw or bolt.
A pair of crimpers
12v electrical test light
Multimeter
A big Hammer
Cuddly toy
Parts washer
Needle and thread
Pair of overalls
Mohican lid
Flying carpet
furry dice
Go faster stripes
toaster
kettle
etc etc

Re: Most common tools
my engine bolt tool has arrived.

very well made tool in good steel. better than my home made effort!
it's listed as an oil filter removal tool, which is probably why theyre not easy to find.
but at £5....

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: Most common tools
some other handy stuff...
metric / imperial feeler gauges
copper / hide hammer
trolley jack
telescopic magnet on a stick
you'll need 22/24 & 27 for the wheel nuts so a nice set of ring / open end spanners
screwfix have a nice set 6-32mm atm and theyre not too dear.
some jobs you'll find the 3/8 socket set isnt man enough so a 1/2" to 32mm is a must
and hex (allen) sockets are a godsend - these are an absolute bargain (i just got myself a set as my others are 3/8) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281012039236? ... 1439.l2649
get yourself a basic electrical tester / multimeter / avo, battery charger starter thingy, set of paddock stands, good quality ratchet straps for lifting the front end / swing arm & shocker jobs.
maybe an impact driver set but tbh i dont like using them unless all else fails
the only other specialist stuff you may need is the m22x1.5 flywheel removal bolt and clutch holder - though these filter wrenches work fine for me,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Laser-2830-Oi ... 4ab7a9ca2d
then maybe a decent 25w soldering iron or better still the gas one for a tenner from maplins is awesome for garage jobs.... decent set of crimp pliers and assortment of crimp terminals.
what more could you need.... mmhhh compressor, spraying kit, impact/windy gun, private dyno... beer cooler
and maybe if you're in the habit of binning (like me) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-Max ... 2a22983b5f
not really essential, but to get wheel alignment spot on when adjusting the chain / tyre fitting, i use a digi vernier as a depth gauge to set the wheel.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6INCH-150MM-D ... 5ae2e62afe
chain rivetter / splitter - not really essential on the storm but is on other bikes.
this is the same kit i paid £40 for so is a bargain at 25 - works very well.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Ch ... 3ccbb70f68
note - you do need a dremel or grinder to take the old soft link off though, so maybe shop for a cheapo silverline (dremel) hobby tool - they work just as good and are only a tenner.
