Got a feeling it's not quite 3mm; a 2mm punch or a pop rivet stem works fine.Benno_0214 wrote:I used a 3mm punch, the best tool for the job really. I don't know why it wouldn't come out! I build grease and oil pumps for a living and I'm punching out roll pins almost daily..... The roll pin wasn't fit to reuse when I did it so it was replaced with a new one.
I'm not going to ride the bike now until I've got the new cct in and sorted.

Re: Ticking
Took the suspect cct out tonight and inspected it, the spring wasn't broken but it does seem to have a fair bit of movement in it?! As in the plunger not being a really tight fit in the body.
I'm picking the new one up in the morning and will install that. I found the 'ticking' noise was more of a light rattle when I started the bike tonight ( almost the sound a bicycle chain makes when it's slapping on the frame
)
When installing a cct and you pull the locking key out it should automatically wind in to the correct tension?!
I'm thinking that when you install the cct and pull out the locking pin should you be able to wind the key in more? I can wind mine in another half turn or so? Could it be that the cct wasn't tensioned in quite enough and the chain was rattling!
Suppose I will find out tommorrow when I install the new one!
Cheers Ben

Re: Ticking
Just to conclude, I put the new cct in this afternoon(stopper mod done) I couldn't really find much wrong with the original one but what I do think happened is that when installing the old one after the stopper mod I think I may have let the tensioner release and tension itself and then may have applied more tension with the locking key causing the chain to be too tight.
This is the only thing I can think that happened as I've just took the bike out for a run and if anything it's quieter/smoother than ever!

Re: Ticking
Now you can start worrying about the shock linkage, or suspension setup.
