coolant question

Post by agentpineapple »

i will soon be needing to fill my bikes with coolant, so heres the questions, firstly does anyone now how much coolant it takes to fill a firestorm system? and secondly can anyone suggest a coolant.
theres the cheap option of halfords own brand, but theres loads of options, all i know is it needs to be compatible with an alloy engine and include...ethylene glycol
2 ltrs

or 5ltrs

i like the look of this stuff tho...
pre flush

I cant remember the quantity for the Storm, but I use the Halfords undiluted coolant for Aluminium engines and then get 5l of distilled water [also from Halfords] and that is much cheaper solution, and you will have enough to do both engines

3.0 – 3.5L

Halfords get 2L distilled water 2L antifreeze and you'll have enough leftover for a great party

Just over 3l then, so get 5l and there's a bit left over for topping up from time to time. I usually buy 5l of pre-mixed green stuff from wemoto

There should be an upper and lower level mark on left hand side of the bottle. Maybe your bottle needs cleaning so you can see it :biggrin

Should be between the Upper level and Lower level marks (on a flat level surface as per checking oil level )

Have you tried the planet polish wheel seal? lets us now how you get on with the lemon stuff

The coolant level you will find is about the halfway mark on the bottle.

Easier to see the level if you shine a small torch in the top of the bottle
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
