Micron Can Fitting Woes

Post by Golgother »

Hey All

I've got standard cans fitted to my 98 Storm, so decided the bike needed to make some noise and stop sounding like a Superdream. Remember them ?

So bought some second hand alloy Microns of the Bay and being a Storm newbie thought, 30 mins to change over from standard, Wrong.

Did a search on here and discovered that some peeps have had problems fitting after market systems, so felt a bit better.

The link pipe on the LH can to the collector on the downpipes, seems to be around 10 or even 20 mm to short.......

Any ideas welcome.

Cheers
Matt

Are they for the VTR1000F firestorm or for the VTR1000SP1/2?

One of the guys here fitted SP cans and link pipes to his storm and came up with such a gap on the left header/link connector sections which needed hacking and a custom section made up to fit.

Have you some pics

The link pipe should fit straight on. You can also make use of the mounting on the bottom of the pegs with Microns.
