Crap init. Wouldn't have happened years ago when we had good unions.
+1 on that and ontop of that Tory tossers distorying the working mans right over the years.

I work in Fords and every two years at the pay meeting the companies slowly clawing back the rights that were fought for before the 2008 crash.

I broke up Thursday as we were laid off Friday.

Just finished this evening thankfully only slightly damp and quite mild and the best ride for quite a while. Same again tomorrow morning for a couple of hours - should be good with empty roads so should be a fast run to work & back.

Thanks for the concern, laid off not made redundant, I only loose £22 for not going to work, could have gone in if I wanted.

Worked until 8 Xmas eve, on call again Xmas day, boxing day, right through until 3rd Jan, so not very impressed.
At least I didn't get called out today, just bloody hundreds of phone calls.

Ah well, no on call after that until next Xmas, with a bit of luck, so at least I'll get my riding weekends in.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

If I were a policemen, firemen, paramedic, nurse etc, I would expect to be working most of the year through all holidays, my wife was working as a health care assistant and would either work boxing day or Christmas day late shift, so we expected it and I didnt mind, but when your just putting nuts n bolts or non essential then I think its out of bounds to get people in.
