Went out in the forby- much more fun, overtaking cars in the snowy outside lane.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Went in the shed and sniffed it :( (Smells nice, though)

Too much snow to use the Deauville for work - on my push bike most of last week. Came off on the way home Friday, but nothing new there. He who falls often etc...

Started to make some brackets for a new seat strap. If it works I'll post some details later

took the lidl trickle charger off. started it up. First push. ran it for approx 12 minutes.
best bit was i remembered to open the front door of the garage and the side door therefore not making the whole house fumey.
since then i have been watching the snooker and making a snowman.

as the new heavy duty ebc clutch springs were on the door mat when i got home i started to put kermit back together .

ignition advancer fitted and new plugs .oil .filter and coolant.
hit the started and it fired into life instantly :D even in this cold -2 .
i left it to worm up to temp and gave it a little stroke

picks up faster and smother and idols better .
the search begins now for a sp1 oil cooler :(
i just need a dry day before the end of the month to test the clutch as kermit aint getting a new mot till march and it runs out end of jan .

Great to hear about the work lloydie, especially the +4.

Do you have any top tips or lessons, having now done what I've been thinking of? Did the cable ties work ok?

What I did was - I put a bolt ( the shortest one from the clutch cover )in the threaded hole to hold the two gears together and a cable tie in the other .
I used some 10mm hard rubber strip to jam the gears so I could undo the bolt . Make sure the cable tie don't get anywhere near the gears as it will brake :-( . I then undone the bolt easy . Swapped over the advancer and put the rubber strip on the other side of the gear to jam them so I could tighten them up .
Remove the locking bolt and the cable tie --- job done .

Brill. Sounds great. I'll not be doing mine for a while but I'll let you know how it goes. Got to sort out electrical gremlins first! Griff.

I moved mine out of the garage for a few days, because I needed the space for some work on the four wheeler...

Then it snowed!

Could have timed things a bit better!

Oh, and hello again, I bet you thought I'd died in a horrible disc lock related accident didn't you! :Finger1:
