Nope sorry, still cant bring myself to get exited over blokes getting paid far too much to kick a bit of pig skin about....

Bike Racing..... that's more like it........

Nonsense...........Cornwall's not far.....(err ok perhaps it is)

I didnt go in the end....

Blardy weather stopped that one.... was forecasting "odd" Showers, which would have been fine, but they forget to mention the "odd" constant shower that started at 7am and didnt finish till about 3pm!!!

Would have been the preverbial drowned rat!!! typical bank holiday weather!!

Years ago a group of us (bikers) on one Sunday left home at 6am and went to watch the bike racing at Thruxton, when we arrived it P***ed down all afternoon while the racing was on. It did stop raining for us to go home, but I remember the roads were wet all the way home. After a total of approximatley 400 miles and half a day wandering around in our full waterproofs at the race meet in the rain, we were all just about done in!

either by some amazing coincidence (well maybe not that amazing...) I went to that race; or it always rains when there's a meet at Thruxton.
Was it British Supercup meet?

Pi$$ed down all day, took so long to get there we missed the first race, and were all so depressed we didn't even go into the circuit -- stayed on the bikes and went home

. Approx 300 miles in the wet and no racing. Pretty much last time the wife went pillion, and definately the last time I was able to persuade her to go to a race! Still, bike handles better without her anyway!

Very interesting. The time I went was a long time ago, probably over 20 odd years ago (that makes me feel old) I don't remember what race it was, but funny you don't forget the rain. Sounds like you had a worse deal than me, at least it was dry for us going there and we did see a little of the racing.
Thinking about it I had a Honda 400/4 at the time with a top box fitted, I remember meeting up with the rest of them (about 7miles from home) looking down at my silencer partly covered in a strange coloured stain, only to discover my flask had broken and the tea had run out through a hole in the top box over my silencer,

Ah them were the days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey folks, what about the Red Lion in Avebury? lovely pub, top roads and huge stone circle! I couldn't ask for more in life!

So that's four Tony... Sunday's always a good bet for me, but I may be getting 2 weeks paternity anytime soon. (I can see that going down well with the missus) But I will if I can! Anyway, too many eyes on a Sunday.

Failing that, I'll just come up Boxhill next time.
