Maybe you can use some of these decal scheme
 Yeh I could put some teeth on the front and mark the road kills.
On a side note, you realize you will have to cover the bike all the time you away... Beside drawing much attention any dirt will be noticeable.
I have thought about that and it's not often I park it out of site, and most defiantly not out in the public streets for two long.

It wont be for a long while yet before I do something with it. Maybe late Summer or next year depending on funds. Frame. swingarm and forks will be done this Summer for sure, just got decide what colour. Then I have a window to put in my clutch cover. I may also do the wheels too. I've also got a 19l tank to go on and some CBR1000 clocks. If I do go down the Chrome route then I will need to put a good basecoat of Black on first. My paintwork is not in the best condition and does need re-doing.

I'm just floating some ideas around at the moment. Planning ahead :biggrin

The chrome defo needed breaking up a bit.

Looking Good

Silver tail is better than Red, I tried the Red and it was too overpowering. Graphite wheels and Black forks and either a standard or polished frame.

I like. :biggrin

Carl, check this out, I reckon it's a better way to go with chrome, without the need to paint and you can always go back to your original or change the skin to something else as you wish:

Also how to do it:

Just because it is Friday I would like to quote old American proverb:
If it doesn't work - chrome it!
- Hey, get out of that tincan you call a car
'Coz that old thing wont get you far
Don't take a bus and don't grab a cab
'Coz I got a thing that'll drive you mad -

What's your plan for night riding? Surely other motorists' lights will reflect off the chrome and blind them, with added help from your lights.. :P

Not with these angles, think of it as a stealth fighter :D now if someone see his own head light while approaching to the side of the bike, well I reckon he should stop before hitting... it's like an old joke: If you see two headlights at night, how do you know if it's a car or two bikes? Go in between :D

I think NHSH is right regarding the glare. Drivers will more than likely slow down from confusion/glare. I might get the reflective tapeworks stripes. They do them in all sorts of colours. But I'm toying between that and the chrome red and black they do.

My latest tweaks
Image

Silver swingarm looks better than Black, my clutch window looks more realistic now and the callipers are good in silver though the text will go gold not Black. Gold wheels are the way to go as well as it sort of balances things out. I tried the rearsets in both Gold and Black but that was overkill so they can just be polished up and sealed.

It's gonna be a long way off before I get it sprayed as I want to get other things sorted first. I've now decided to put a Ducati 996 tail on the bike. The 748 with the all in one built in hump and indi's would be cool but after some thought, I figured the 996 can have a removable hump over the pillion seat like the Storm. I'm hoping this will give me more storage access and also the hump can be removed to strap luggage on if needs be. It gives me the best of both worlds! I've just got to figure out how the ducati seat lock mechanism works.

The good news is I now have some direction to go in.

One more thing, where I have the Honda logo on the lower, that wont go there. I shall get some sponsor logos there which means I can have the all important Snap On tools logo :biggrin The best tools in the world. I love Snap On as much as Gortex.

Nothing but is a 1000. I just plonked that on there to break things up and see what a decal would look on there. When I put the Duke rear end on it might not have any decals but it might get one little V2 decal.

very good carl. Not sure I go with the gold wheels tbh, preferred the grey above, but beauty in the eye and all that. A fab project to plan for though and sure there will be many updates and new directions along the way

Thanks Kev, got my eye on both those and another one with all the electrics. That £170 ONO one is expensive but is in the best condition with no broken bits. I may be better buying a complete end like that as the seats, tail light, tail light mount, odd bits of plastic/rubber etc all add up. I have gone through every Ducati page on ebay now and have saved searches. It took me hours

£170 though :eek2 that could buy me fork springs, oil, new seals, paint etc. Basically have my front suspension sorted.
