Mmm I wonder what the mystery hose is. If it's not in the manual Is it a vaccum hose from an old Scotoiler or something

I will refer you to one of my earlier posts
http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 37#p246550

But you need to be able to remove the seat and tank and stuff otherwise you can't check things over. If you can't use the key, maybe you can pull the lock wire from underneath or through the side of the fairing. You may be able to get fingers or a hooked tool in there to release the seat catch.

I think your old man is doing his best to help. "daddy to the rescue"

The sooner you get this bike up and running and sold the better.

Yeah, we're leaving it in Clacton ( ) and going back in my dads' car. Gonna collect it next week in a van or something :/ he says selling it isn't an option right now. Cheeky bugger, just wants to keep the storm for himself while it's actually got power

I can insure the storm RIGHT NOW for £1800. I'll lower the asking price on the hornet to 2k, then I can also afford the restrictor and I'll pay for tax outta my own money. Any takers?

I,m not a marketing expert but you haven't really done much of a sales job with the hornet!. like everybody says though if you can find someone who,s familiar with them it will probably be an easy fix.

pity its not all happening in the summer. we could drag it to Colchester and have a mini hornet themed workshop day round at wicky,s.

if you leave it unattended long enough in Clacton someones bound to take it off your hands

hope you get home safe anyway.

Yep, I think you have the makings of a novel here.
after all, if Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance can sell, you must surely have material for a best-seller.

Fixed that for you :)

By the way, how sweet of you all to not commenting on the
Virt was an amazing person, everyone loved him
part of my story. Just letting you know that it's a non-fiction and based on true events. I reckon it's still got a good 60 years until it's done though and it goes on the shelves, here's a spoiler for you however. Someone dies at the end :(

Also, what do you mean "mini hornet"? Just cause it hasn't got a 1L engine doesn't mean it's small!

Okay, I'm gonna try and do a more serious marketing pitch, ready?

FOR SALE : 1 1999 Honda Hornet 600 (CB600F (X)) in Yellow

Runs very well once it has started.
Rides like it's done less miles than it has
Has washers in the carbs so your loved one is guaranteed to be safe!
Comes with everything! Chain, wheels, engine, chassis and a seat!
5 keys are included with the sale, show your friends how confident with your sexuality you are by having these bent keys!
Slow yellow colour means your loved one is even more guaranteed to be safe and will not be able to risk their life overtaking as well as being the butt of all their friends jokes.

All for the low asking price of £1800

Hmm.. What have I missed out? :/ Feel free to add some suggestions

Now stick that up on ebay. With a description like that it's bound to get a few bid. A bit like selling a Mars bar wrapper.
here's a spoiler for you however. Someone dies at the end
Thats very optomistic of you.

Okay Mr. AMCQ are you just jealous that at my age I can own, maintain and grow a full head of hair? That doesn't make me a woman, just young

And I am nothing if not a negative buzzkill, gotta stick to what you're good at :D
