How hard are they to install onto the VTR? Got a set with the bike and I'm starting to work on it now in the ways I can (just installed the blue-est side light ever. Whoops
) cause I've got brake lines, CCT's and the rear suspension to sort out before October. Rather get it done sooner as my dad will be using it and I don't want it breaking...

Easypeasy, but bleeding the fronts can be a frustrating experience and best to use a vacuum pump (
) if you have one, but it can be done by pumping in the traditional manner, but it takes ages and you will think you are getting nowhere, then all of sudden it will go hard (
)

Piece of cake mate, just take off fairing and fender before doing it, spill any brake fluid on your body work and it will end in tears

It's not difficult to do but as has been said the bleeding can be a bit tricky. Better to have two people for that. One to bleed and one to keep and eye on the fluid level and top up.

Virt what you need for bleeding brakes is one of these...

Use it to suck the fluid out via the bleed nipple, change your lines with less mess.
Then once the new lines are on, push the new fluid through the callipers again via the nipple. This way any air gets pushed up & out of the lines. Saves on all the faffing around with pumping the lever. Don't forget always use new copper washers on all banjos.
For the cost you can't go wrong !
Your probably reading this waiting for the punch line but there isn't one.
This method is tried & tested & also recommended by Brake Guru Jonesy. In fact that's who showed it to me.
It also means that you can use your vacuum pump for it's intended purpose with out getting corrosive brake fluid in contact with very sensitive areas.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Syringes will still need two people though right? I want to do it on Wednesday but I'm alone when I get home from school at like 11am
Otherwise I'll have a hangover next sunday which will be my first opportunity :/

Best arrange for someone to do it for you other than your Dad then...

No seriously it's do-able on your own. You do need the right size tubing to go on the nipple, use a ring spanner for the nipple so it doesn't fall off all the time.
Just watch the master cylinder when refilling as you don't want to overfill it. Once you get fluid into the MC from one side do the other side, still don't fill MC up to the fill line, bung the cap on give it a pump or two on the lever, then add fluid to the MC to the correct level.
Another little tip for you is before you remove the old lines, thread the new ones in to follow the old lines to get the right route, tape them to the bars to hold them in place.
What have you bought the two or the three line kit for the fronts ?
The standard lines are a three piece there is a splitter bolted to the bottom yoke IIRC, this can be binned if fitting two line set up, but you will need to use the the 'P' clip things on the forks.
When it's all on & bolted back up pump the leaver a few times, then tape or bungee the lever back to the bar. Leave it overnight like that, this will force any possible remaining air up to the top. In the morning check for any leaks or drips on all joints top & bottom.
Remember to check & check again anything you unbolt, tighten or replace. This is your brakes getting it wrong or leaving it loose is not an option !
